I started turkey hunting with a bow after shooting my first bird with a gun when I was 12. I have taken many turkeys with my bow in the spring and the fall. Last year between me, dad, and my bro we shot 7 Toms and out of the 7, 5 were with a bow. My…

If you want them, I have 4 years of VHS tapes from double bull archery. The tapes are mainly hunts using their blinds but they throw in lots of advise and tips. I would think these two guys have shot more turkeys with their bows than anyone. I have…

3rd weekend!

BowBrothers
9/26/09
Hunter: Wade
Cameramen: Nick
Location: Pierce County
Weather: Cool (mid 50’s), foggy, and wet.

Saturday morning:
Finally some cool weather!!! It was 49 degrees this morning when I drove out to pick Wade up. We got down to the farm and headed to the “point stand”. The sky was clear and although it was well before shooting light, it was getting light out quick. By the time we got to our stand, we saw two larger deer out in the field right in front of our treestand!! We slowly… Continue

Weather: Very warm

Saturday:
Sorry for the belated post from last weekend. Wade and I traded off hunting last weekend. Wade hunted Saturday morning, the same stand as last weekend, didn’t see any deer. Saturday afternoon (after a long nap) Nick hunted but we got out to the woods late. Checked the battery life on the camera and it was DEAD!!! I left the camera battery in it after the morning hunt and mus… Continue

Opening Weekend

BowBrothers
9/13/09
Hunter: Wade
Cameraman: Nick
Location: Pierce County
No wind, hot (80 degrees), lots of bugs

Hunted one of our favorite stands tonight with high hopes. Sat this stand a lot last year with minimal luck, however, with beans growing all around this stand, we can see more of the field than last year when it was corn. No deer tonight, still a lot of leaves on the trees!! Can't wait for it to cool down and the leaves to fall.

Two weeks!!

Wade and I headed back out into the woods to clear some shooting lanes and move some stands around yesterday. We got out a little later in the afternoon than we wanted, but still managed to cut lanes on one of our stand locations from last year as well as pull one set and move them to another spot. Checked the trail cameras, but didn't have any pictures worth bragging about. My Cuddeback Capture camera didn't take any pictures over the last two weeks, and I am not sure why. All summer long I hav… Continue

Bow Brothers

7-15-09

Tonight Wade and I went to the farm to check the trail camera's. We got some more pics of the nice bachelor group we've been following all summer. A couple of nice 8 pointers, hopefully one will be on the wall at this time next year! We brought the video camera down and got some cool footage of a doe and a fawn. I was sitting in the first row of corn and before I knew it, the doe was standing 10 yards in front of me starring and trying to figure out what I was. All in all it was a good night, bu… Continue

Yes I do know Brad & Zack. Zack helped me drag that pig out of the woods on September 19 and also took most of the pictures you see.
