About me...
We are a mother and son team. Terri Lee taught Kale how to rifle hunt as a young lad. Kale has taught Terri Lee a thing or two about bow hunting. Together we will be bringing you interesting videos and stories about our hunting. Add Kale's two year old sister into the mix and we could have a doozy year!

I was lucky enough to be able to borrow one of these handy little devices on my elk hunting trip to Utah. It was lightweight and packed easily into my luggage (although you need to leave it on the top so they can examine it since it looks like a rifle stock in the X-ray machine!) lol. It is one slick device!
We used it while just holdi

Mystery of the 9pt. Solved!

Just found out that the 9pt that I wounded was shot and killed by a neighbor kid the night before Halloween.

The right front leg was busted off just under the shoulder. This certainly makes sense of the loud horrible crack after I shot when I thought I had hit a tree.

It also makes sense that the day I discovered that my bow sites were loose, I was shooting low and to the right which would place the shot in that very area.

While I am sad that I did not get to recover that buck, I am glad to p… Continue

NeverGuess Range Finder

My biggest obstacle in bow hunting has been the fact that I don’t judge distance very well. Maybe it is the fact that I didn’t ever need to when rifle hunting in the woods of Wisconsin, or maybe it was that I was learning how far away things were, from other people that really couldn’t judge distance either.… Continue

We set out again to the stands. I have decided if the 9pt came in again tonight I am going to whack him. We have changed our strategy slightly again. This time we parked the wheeler and walked into the stand.

We got into the stand sometime shortly before 5. Around 5:40 we started hearing noise behind us. Sure enough he was back. This time we thought he had spotted Joe and started to move away. Joe used the bleet can and he quickly sw… Continue

Team Huntinglife, thanks for the welcome and friend request. You are the envy of many bowhunters. Hated to see and hear you had so many downers this past season; wish you the best in the coming seasons. As one who has worked in a bow shop and been bowhunting for many years, I hope you don't mind these suggestions: unless you spend a GREAT deal of time practicing, (1) don't use a fall-away rest - use a wisker biscut; (2) use a single pin, up from the bottom, adjustable sight - sight your bow in at 15 or 20 yards at ground level and you will be good for shots 20 to 30 yards from the tree depending on arrow speed - remembering to aim at 1/3 mark. Best wishes.

I've been hunting on that road for 35 years. I hunted out of a trailer with my great aunt and uncle for 20 years. Lots of good memories on that road.
