Just found out that the 9pt that I wounded was shot and killed by a neighbor kid the night before Halloween.

The right front leg was busted off just under the shoulder. This certainly makes sense of the loud horrible crack after I shot when I thought I had hit a tree.

It also makes sense that the day I discovered that my bow sites were loose, I was shooting low and to the right which would place the shot in that very area.

While I am sad that I did not get to recover that buck, I am glad to put it to rest and know that someone else recovered it.

You have to be happy that the buck was taken and not wasted. This was a horrible experience for you im sure but I have gone through this myself and would love to never have it happen again but Im sure it will, If you bow hunt you know this is a possibility and that is part of the experience. I would love to hear that the buck I wounded was killed by someone else or at least still alive, maybe well see him next year?
